Lacquering
As expected, it is horrible. I add, by hand, four coats of 2-component varnish and polish with 1000 grade paper. This leaves strange patterns in the transition between the coats. Conclusion: I'll finish it later (I need this to play in two days for the SSI 2006) by adding one more coat, then polish with 1600 grade and treat the sides with wax; that may hide the patterns.

I cheer myself up by mounting the reeds – it can now make sounds! When all reeds are mounted, I cut out two hand straps, mount them – and play the first tune!

Polishing is no fun –

Will it ever be good?
