Right. Tongues...

The steel (0.4 mm) for the tongues is 100 mms wide. They should be cut in widths equal to the length of a given tongue, plus approx. 20 mm more. After that, they should be cut in the width of a given tongues plus a few tenths.

The first job I did with a plate shearer that could “gape” across exactly 100 mms. For the second job, I had originally planned to build an add-on the shearer, a gizmo that would allow the plate to be inserted to a certain depth and held while it was cut, but...

There is no time, so I relied on my trusted mate, Richard in the UK, ’cos I knew that he had made an add-on to his shearer. What I received looked like this:
